This is due to the fact that Club Penguin Online removed the original Club Penguin’s parental control filters that were designed to protect their young player base. The ever-watchful Walt Disney however filed a DMCA takedown notice on May 13, 2020, claiming that they were appalled by the illegally run game. Having been shoved out of the scene for a few years now, a copy of the original, now known as Club Penguin Online, made its return through the use of privately hosted servers made from stolen and hacked source code, garnishing a staggering 7 million players due to the coronavirus.
